International Youth Barbershop Chorus Festival
Videos

The Youth Chorus program is a major success in promoting choral singing and developing strong barbershop programs for young men in America and elsewhere. Vokal Kombat from Sweden competed in the 2010 IYBCF in Tampa, FL, as did a chorus from across Canada, who had their first joint rehearsal the night before the contest. There was also a chorus from Alaska.

Here are sample videos of the competitors at the 2009 IYBCF, held in Pasadena, CA, on January 31, 2009.

The Northwest Vocal Project, from Western Washington (Seattle), won the contest by a nose...
...beating 52eighty from the Denver area by one point.
52eighty went on to win the 2010 contest in Tampa, FL, on January 30, 2010.
The 505, from Albuquerque, NM, came in 3rd in 2009...
...and are highly seeded for the 2011 IYBCF contest.
The Wissota Voices, from Lake Wissota, WI(?), finished 4th in 2009.
The guys from Seneca, NY, didn't compete for score, but did a wonderfully credible job.
The winners of the 2008 contest, The Marcsmen from San Marcos, TX, are now competing in the International Men's Chorus contest in Kansas City in July 2011.

The Marcsmen, NVP, and 52eighty are all chartering as full-fledged chapters of the Barbershop Harmony Society, either with a new charter or by assuming the charter of a less-active chapter in their region. This is a reflection of the bonding and success experienced in this program.
